GDC
So it has been a while since I posted on this blog. I think now is a good a time then never to post because we are not having class due to the fact that everyone has left to GDC for the week. unfortunately I could not go due to other responsibilities. So I got the game working at home and played alot of it last night and made in my opinion a lot of pretty hard records to beat.
I also managed to get my avatar working and I must say my avatar looks great.

The game is coming along quite nicely. I do find that there a few places where you can get blocked by invisible walls, and for some reason the game gets very choppy the more you play it which can some times cheat you out of a really good run by not registering a double jump or a wall grab. well everyone is at GDC so I guess I'll just get back to other home work and continue play testing the crap out of our game.

Show off at the masters games studio
We showed our games to the masters students, the reception was quite well. our big thing is now we need a level. we are having a hard time agreeing on a type of level that we want. some want a city, and other want just a playground with no narrative other then collect x amount of scrolls. so I have had some level design responsibilities thrust upon me. so we had a meeting all who were involved in level design. and after some talking we are starting to rework the initial level design.

| the over all world that we would like to create given enough time. |
So this is it we are going to the skies and not looking back, we all agree on this because it will give the player a visual sense of accomplishment and progression. so now we are going to start doing this.

Level Design Ho!
Level design is in full swing in my brain, I eat sleep and even dream level design. it has been fun to see how I can come up with cool interesting level designs and quests. my brain is constantly thinking of stuff to do in the game. I look at a building and imagine myself and how I could scale it if I had awesome parkouring abilities. then I have to take that into a game perspective and try and make that thought all objective based.
So first off I gave my preliminary sketch some depth by blocking it in on sketchup.
With the level having depth I then can take pieces of it and try and come up with some basic ideas as to how to utilize parkouring to get around and achieve objectives.
Last I sketch up ideas and various actions for puzzles and movement.
I'll continue working on some more level design and sketch out more of the inner workings of buildings and objectives.

Lets Do THIS!!
So the new semester has started and I am getting a bit nervous, so this is what has happened. we had a change in project lead, some new people joined and others dropped.. But I am on to animating I got a new smoke bomb throw animation and a fireball launching animation.
The game is coming along but we are having big discussions as to what we can do in our game which leads me to my new assignment: LEVEL DESIGN!

So I am pretty nervous about this, I am not too good at coming up with stuff, but I cam up with this very rough draft of a level and I am pretty happy with it. After playing with a bunch of games that were quest based like Assassins Creed, Toy Story - Toy Box Mode, Lego LoTR, WoW, and pretty much any game actually.... well this is my level design that i feel would allow us to maximize space and make interesting quests. I still am fighting for a boss battle in the sky *Crosses Fingers*
